CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF BEACON TRAVEL SERVICE DAY TRIPS - 2009 - 2019
In December 2019 we celebrated 10 years of our day trip programme. Back in 2009, on the cusp of taking over from the Williams family, running day trips was not something that we did.
However, a couple of Crowborough friends decided that this is what they needed in their life and that we should arrange something for them to enjoy. 2nd December 2009 was our first trip to the Canterbury Christmas Market.
Aspects of the trip didn't really work, but it was obvious there was a need to provide such a service to the community. Over the years we have become more ambitious with our programme and visited some interesting known and unknown places.
In 2015 coinciding with the celebration of Beacon Travel turning 50, we decided to increase the trips, we thought more about the design, giving this small yet important collection an identity - afterall, it had become a cult following even if it was just to receive the infamous sweets as part of the journey. We are very proud of our contribution to the community of Crowborough and long may it continue.
